Dale Fulton

Big Mountain Coach

Dale is thrilled to join the big mountain coaching team for his first season with MRT and is looking forward to an incredible year ahead. He doesn’t remember his very first day on skis—thanks to his adventurous telemark-skiing mother who strapped skis on his feet as soon as he could walk. She was not only a ski instructor but also served as a ski patroller on Mt. Ashland. Growing up skiing on Mt. Ashland nurtured Dale’s passion for steep, technical terrain as he explored the mountain with friends and family.

In the winter of 2018, Dale earned his Level 100 alpine certification and began coaching that same season. In 2019, he relocated to the Portland metro area, where he worked in local tune shops, fixing and selling skis and snowboards.

Dale feels fortunate to have found a supportive network of friends—some longtime, most new—who coached, encouraged, and challenged him to become a stronger skier. After years of chasing faster skiers, he finally started keeping pace.

Pursuing his education alongside his passion, Dale earned an associate degree in Water and Environmental Technology, graduating in the winter of 2025. He now works as a wastewater operator at the City of Gresham’s wastewater treatment plant.

When he’s not working or coaching, Dale is thinking about skiing—keeping up with the latest ski edits, rewatching classics, and tuning skis in his garage.

Dale is excited to share his enthusiasm, passion, and knowledge of freeride skiing with the MRT big mountain team and anyone lucky enough to find themselves on the same chairlift.
