Scholarships

The  MRT Foundation Scholarship Fund is awarded to current athletes based on merit and/or financial circumstances.  This can range from support for upcoming race travel, camps or tuition fees.  

Please complete this application to be considered for a scholarship.  Amounts range from $100-$600 per athlete based on specific need.  Scholarship funding can only be applied to MRT program fees (as a reimbursement or applied toward next season) or can be applied to specific fees for upcoming race travel or camps.  

Scholarships will be awarded in February of each season.

HANS CHRISTIAN SCHMIDT  SCHOLARSHIP

The Hans Christian Schmidt Memorial Scholarship is $1,000 and awarded at the start of the season to help an athlete and their family cover registration fees in MRT programs.  The scholarship application period runs from the start of registration through November 30th . Awards will be presented to an athlete/family during the Annual November Ski Ball, or during the month of November.  If an athlete/family is unable to utilize the funds due to unforeseen circumstances the award committee will consider the second selection.  Families should let MRT know in writing if they are unable to use the scholarship.  This scholarship funding can only be applied to MRT program fees (as a reimbursement or applied toward the coming season) and will go directly toward offsetting team fees for participation in season programs.  There is no cash value.  

The award will be scored with greater preference points given for younger athletes (second year U8 gets the highest score), athletes who have a parent coaching, families with multiple athletes, and for outstanding applications.    Selection priority prefers a new family so previous recipients can apply, but will prioritized accordingly.

Applications are awarded in December each season.

MRT is proud to announce the AJ Kitt Scholarship.  The program is designed to help offset the costs of competition travel for athletes who have demonstrated a commitment to and love of the sport and qualify and attend regional, championship or high level race events.   The award is not linked to race results or athletic achievement or specifically to financial need.
