EMILY WRIGHT
Emily grew up in a 1970 hippy-ish farm community in the Willamette valley. Her brothers taught her to ski via the ski or die method. In high school she joined the Canby ski team, where her need for speed was fostered by Coach Aaron Zarosinski (yes the one and the same). She instructed for short periods of time at Meadows and in Durango Colorado. She raced for Fort Lewis College and received the MVP award her rookie year. She spent her 20s hitchhiking in New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Oregon and Alaska and stayed in various ashrams along the way. Her 30's brought two children, Haladar and Veda , and the adventure of motherhood. She rekindled her love for the sport when her daughter Veda chose to join MRT, this will be Emily's 8th year coaching. She has taught elementary school arts. When she is not on the slopes she braids hair at renaissance fairs in the summer. She has studied physical Therapist Assistant. Other hobbies include gardening (with a permaculture twist) hiking, biking and painting She has been coaching for MRT for 8 years
