Katy grew up in the Seattle area ski racing for Team Alpental Snoqualmie (TAS). She then went on to race for the Gonzaga University club team. After graduating, she spent several winters working as a part-time coach for TAS while balancing a career in the Seattle tech industry. She worked with athletes from from ages U8 through U19 adding to her experience with different age groups and skill levels. After many years working behind a desk, Katy was drawn back to her roots and passion for skiing and decided to pursue coaching full-time. She moved to Sun Valley, ID and worked for the Snow Sports program before finding her way to the beautiful Hood River area. She worked as a full-time U16-19 coach/FIS coach for TAS before joining MRT in 2019/20.  She holds a Level 300 certification.  When Katy is not on the snow coaching, you can find her backcountry skiing, riding her mountain bike, kiteboarding or searching for the next adventure!
